Zohran Mamdani Pledges a 'Dawn' for New York City in Maiden Address
During an inauguration day in the mayor's office, Zohran Mamdani vowed to “transform” New York City, ushering in “a new era” and an audacious commencement to his tenure.
An Unprecedented Figure
The new political star, who was a relatively obscure state assemblyman, is the city's first mayor born in Africa. He also made history by being the first to be sworn in using the Islamic holy text.
